I am interested in the mutual fund industry for last 3 years. For individual investor, I feel that we should give the decision of equity investment to professional hand. In that case, mutual fund houses are our only options. But, most of the equity funds in India has quite huge expense ratio. most of the cases, it is as big as more than 2% and most of the cases it is 2.5%. I don't know what is the situation here, why the expense ration is so high where a fund is maintaining portfolio of more than 1000 crore. In my finding, I found the only exception is Quantum Mutual Fund House. Whose expense ratio is as low as 1.4%. Also the equity funds last 5 years performance is quite good. Return is more than 15% where the category return is above 7%. I'll always find this low cost mutual fund gives big return over long term.
