How to configure Tata Photon Plus as a Wifi Router

I am using Tata Photon Plus for last 2 years. One problem I always faced was that I was not able to use it as wifi connection. And was not able to share the internet connection with my samsung galaxy mobile or other laptop and home PC. I was using a 3G connection for my mobile while I have unlimited internet usage in photon. This bothered me a lot and yesterday I put an end to it. Things I have done to use tata photon plus a  wifi router is as follows.

1. I bought a TPlink modem [Model number TL-MR 3200]. It's price was 1976 Rs with tax.
2. Connect the tata photon plus usb dongle [or any 3g USB stick with it].
3. Connect the router with your laptop using the ethernet cable which comes with it.
4. In any web browser open the url http://192.168.1.1/
Give the password [default admin/admin] there.
 5. Click on quick setup and create a 3G connection. Select the country India and Mobile ISP as Tata Photon +. All the other details for tata photon plus will be populated automatically[same thing is applicable for any 3g connection in india]. Select connection mode as "connect automatically"
6. click on wireless > wireless security. Give a password to secure the wifi connection.

And wow , you are ready with your tata photon plus wifi. Connect andy laptop or wifi mobile with this network with the password.

Honda Brio Review

I got the delivery of my new Honda Brio S model one month back. The following is a brief review on Honda Brio. Lets check the pros and cons of this car.

Pros

1. Mileage Mileage Mileage. It's a 1200 cc car, but, without AC, I have even managed a mileage of 24 km/l in a semi city condition. With AC, mileage is anytime more than 14 km/l in city and 17 km/l in highway. But, it all depends on how you drive. Any time my driver gets 2-3 km less than I used to get in same road condition. I have written more details on exact mileage in separate blog. You can check it here.
2. Interior space and decoration. From outside it looks small car, but, whew, it has lots of space inside. The space seems some time more than some cheap sedan and any time it is more than any hatchback that are available in India. The interior decoration is premium. You will feel good after sitting inside.
3. Good ground clearence.
4. Honda Brio engines are quite powerful [As the engines are Honda Jazz engine]. I have read in one review before buying that Brio's engine is more powerfull than i20. I have driven this car on a top speed of 125km/hr. I didn't notice any engine sound and vibration till now.
5. Powerful AC.
6. No sound and vibration inside while the engine is on. Infact if you does not look into the dashboard, you may not know whether the engine is running.
7. Exterior look.
8. Brand HONDA.

Cons

Although in last one month I have not find many cons of this car. Still the following can be considered.

1. The boot space is smaller than other hatch back car though it is sufficient for any small family. [My view is it is more than enough].
2. No back rear wiper [Although I have not seen any costly car has rear wiper still it may be some one's requirement. So, I am mentioning it].
3. No remote control for inbuilt audio. The S and V version has steering mounted audio control which is very cool for this segment hatchback car. But, there is no remote control. So, while my driver drives the car changing the audio is tricky if I sit in rear sit.

I'll update this blog with additional information after I find it.

Honda Brio Mileage

I have purchased Honda Brio recently. I got the delivery of the car on 18th May , 2012. Already I have driven the car for almost 650 km. Also, I have taken my car to high way and normally I drive inside city [Kolkata]. First service has not been done till now. Here, is a first glance about the mileage information of Brio. The mileage  has been calculated by the inbuilt mileage meter of Honda Brio.

Yesterday I have taken my car to City Center 2, Rajarhat. From my home it's almost 22 km, with half of the road is very congested city road and half of the road is city bypass highway. In this total 22 km during noon [low traffic], without AC I got the mileage of 24 km/litre. In the same road, during returning back to home in evening [very high traffic], I got the mileage of 21.5 km/litre. I ran the vehichle in an average speed of 40-50 km/hr whereas top speed was around 65-70km/hr.. I was quite impressed by the mileage.

without AC mileage of honda brio in semi city road condition

But, the thing was totally different while my driver was driving the car in the heart of the city [Shyambazar, Esplanade area of Kolkata]. Then with AC I got the mileage of ~12 km/l. And without AC it was ~15.5 km/l. I am sure, this low mileage is because of my Driver's abrupt acceleration and braking :) . In very very  traffic overloaded road, I always get more than 14 km/l with AC for last three weeks.

Last week, I have taken my car to highway [Delhi Road] for about 100 km ride. In this total ride my driver got the mileage of 15.5 km/l whereas while I was driving I got the mileage more than 18 km/l with AC. One thing I also want to mention, during this ride, my Driver was driving at a top speed of 120 km/hr at one time, but, we didn't feel any engine sound or vibration from the back seat.
Highway mileage with AC

I know the mileage will change[increase?] after the first servicing. I'll update the blog with new information then. Also, I'll try to calculate the mileage by full tank method and try to update you all.
